Process

I came up with this idea few days ago. I wanted to make a rhythmic multiplayer movement shooter. sooo I slowly started working on it

For now I have a very small prototype of my idea.

I added simple prototype textures from asset store so I will have some sense of scale and I wouldn’t have to bother with materials for now. Player movement includes: Walking, Running & Sliding as all movement shooters do, its still pretty simple system but Im planning on upgrading it in the future so its much more fun and satisfying to play around with.

I quickly created this metronome sprites in photoshop just to visualize how beat system works in the game.

I added some functionality to it so it animates to the selected bpm in the game. I had to add functionality to change bpm at any given time to ensure changing songs will be in sync with it.

So now the fun part of it!

In my weapon system, damage will be multiplied depending if player is going to shoot on the beat especially on the first and third beat. It works pretty well and I found a pretty good time interval to make it a bit challenging but also not impossible.
